Kotmale Dam began in 1979 and was completed in 1985. This dam is a large hydro-electronic dam in Sri Lanka. More than 50 villages are drowned by the end of this project. There are some Buddhist temples also in the drowned area . In the dry weather emerged the ruins of these temples. Kotmale Kadadora temple is a special place among the ruins and a Buddha statue still not completely destroyed.
