Yapahuwa is one of the best Medieval Strongholds in ancient Sri Lanka. The castle situated in the Wayamba province of Sri Lanka. The rock fortress is 90 meter high rock boulder in the style of the Sigiriya. The palace and fortress were build by King Buvanekabahu I(House of Siri Sanga Bo). On top of the rock are the ruins indicates earlier this site used as a Buddhist monastery. There are several caves and the Buddhist temple called Yapahuwa Rajamaha Viharaya.
